Your symptoms are not the problem. They're the signal.
Most healthcare providers treat what they can see. We look way upstream and correct the neurological source of the problem.

How we're different
What sets a Gonstead-trained practice apart
and why so few exist...
Most chiropractors are generalists — trained across many techniques, focused on relieving pain at the point where it presents. We are specialists. We practice one method, mastered over years of dedicated training, designed to identify and correct the neurological source of dysfunction rather than its surface expression.
We treat the source, not the symptom
Neck pain, recurring headaches, and digestive discomfort are often secondary expressions of a deeper structural imbalance. We look past the symptom to find and correct what is actually causing it — so results last rather than repeat.
One method. Mastered.
The Gonstead Method requires meticulous five-criteria analysis and years of dedicated training to execute with genuine precision. Rather than cycling through multiple techniques, we have committed entirely to this one system — and the results reflect that depth of focus.
We live what we teach
Our guidance is not theoretical. The health principles and lifestyle habits we recommend are the same ones we follow ourselves, every day. When we talk about the foundations of long-term health, we are speaking from experience — not from a textbook.

The Gonstead Chiropractic Method
What is the Gonstead Chiropractic Method?
The Gonstead Method is a precise, evidence-based system of chiropractic analysis developed by Dr. Clarence S. Gonstead over 55 years of clinical practice. It uses five specific criteria to identify the exact location, direction, and nature of spinal misalignments — delivering targeted corrections that address the structural root cause of nervous system interference.
The five criteria of Gonstead analysis
Instrumentation: The Nervoscope
The Nervoscope detects uneven heat distribution along the spine — a reliable indicator of inflammation and nerve irritation. Guided down the length of your back, it provides objective data that guides where and when a correction is needed.
Static palpation
Dr. Mirandola carefully palpates your spine in a still position, feeling for swelling, tenderness, and abnormal tissue texture — physical signs that confirm what the Nervoscope has detected.
Motion Palpation
The spine is assessed while moving at various angles to identify segments that are not moving freely. Restricted motion at a single vertebral joint is a key indicator of structural misalignment.
Full-spine Digital X-ray Analysis
Full-spine X-rays taken in the weight-bearing, standing position allow Dr. Mirandola to evaluate posture, disc and joint integrity, and the precise nature of vertebral misalignments — providing the structural map that guides every correction.
Visualization
Trained observation cross-references all other findings. Subtle changes in posture, movement patterns, and body symmetry confirm and refine the clinical picture before any adjustment is made.
Neuro-Structural Restoration
What is Neuro-Structural Restoration?
and why it affects every part of your body...
Neuro-Structural Restoration at The Foundation Chiropractic is the integration of two disciplines: the Gonstead Chiropractic Method, which provides the structural analysis and precise spinal correction, and Functional Neurology principles, which assess how the nervous system is performing and adapting. Together, they form a comprehensive approach that addresses both the structural and neurological dimensions of health — not one or the other.
Your nervous system is like the wiring in a building. If there’s a short circuit somewhere in the walls, certain rooms lose power — and the problem isn’t in those rooms. The problem is in the wiring.
Neuro-Structural Restoration finds the short circuit. Not the rooms that went dark.
Neuro-Structural Restoration is our term for the process of identifying and correcting these structural shifts — restoring nervous system communication so the body can regulate, adapt, and heal as it was designed to.
16 Neuro-structural tests
Getting to the Core of the Problem
This is the most comprehensive structural and neurological assessment most patients will ever receive. The examination is the foundation of everything that follows — and it is what makes the our method different from any other chiropractic approach.
Bio-Structural Examination
Measures Compensatory Structural Shifts in Your Spine & Pelvis
Proprioception Test
Measures Coordination and Body-Position Sense
Vestibular Test
Measures your equilibrium and sense of balance.
Grip Strength Test
Measures cervical nerve output and cardiovascular function.
Lung Volume Test
Measures neuro-respiratory oxygen intake and lung expansion.
Arms Overhead Test
Shoulder ROM as baseline for cervical (neck) neuro-structural integrity.
Squat Test
Pelvic Stability, balance & strength as a baseline for spinal integrity.
Smell Test
Loss of smell is the first sign of nerve degeneration.
Oxygen Saturation Test
Evaluates Cardio-Respiratory Function
Pupil Dilation Test
Evaluates brain hemispheric dominance.
Neuro-Visceral Function
Evaluates neurological control of organ systems, glands, and tissues
Neuro-Muscular Test
Evaluates energy output from spinal neuro-muscular system.
Neuro-Inflammatory Testing
Tests for spinal neuro-inflammation
Motion & Static Palpation Testing
Evaluates healthy and fixated vertebral and pelvic range of motion.
Adaptive Reserve Test
Assesses your adaptive resilience to the stresses of life before those stresses begin to affect your health.
Structural Radio graphs
Your spine and pelvic structure will be analyzed and measured down to the millimeter.

How to choose a chiropractor
Our Promise
We are a small, focused practice by design. We see a limited number of patients so that every visit receives the full weight of our attention. This is not a volume practice. It is a precision practice — and the experience reflects that at every step, from your first case review to your hundredth adjustment.
Radical transparency
You will always understand what we found, why it matters, and what we are doing about it. We explain everything — in plain language, without overcomplication, without rushing past the details that matter to you.
Precision over volume
We deliberately limit how many patients we see so that every individual receives focused, unhurried care. The Gonstead Method demands this — and so do you.
Integrity in practice
We live the same health principles we recommend. Our guidance is grounded in how we actually choose to live — not in clinical obligation or protocol. What we tell you, we believe. What we recommend, we do.
Long-term partnership
We are not here to see you only until your symptoms disappear. We are here to help you build a health foundation that supports the life you want to live — for as long as you choose to invest in it.
The people behind your care
Meet The Team
Dr. Rob Mirandola, D.C.
Doctor of Chiropractic · Gonstead Specialist
Dr. Mirandola founded The Foundation Chiropractic in Newton, MA in 2010 — relocating to Wellesley in January 2026 and expanding to a second location in Worcester in 2023, becoming the first and only Gonstead-trained practice in Central Massachusetts.
He holds two distinct clinical certifications that define his scope of practice. His Gonstead Method certification represents years of focused postgraduate training in one of the most demanding and precise systems in chiropractic — a technique so time-intensive to master that very few practitioners commit to it fully. His Webster Technique certification is a specialized training in perinatal chiropractic care, allowing him to safely and effectively support pregnant patients through every stage of pregnancy, including cases of breech and transverse presentation.
Together, these certifications reflect not just what Dr. Mirandola is trained to do — but the depth of commitment that defines how he does it. Patients travel from across New England specifically because this level of training is rare in Massachusetts.
“After caring for thousands of individuals, what I know with certainty is this: the body wants to heal. Our job is to remove what’s standing in the way.”
Lea Mirandola
Practice Director
Lea is the operational and relational foundation of The Foundation Chiropractic. She ensures that every patient — from their very first phone call to their hundredth adjustment — experiences the same level of warmth, attention, and care that defines this practice.
Her role extends well beyond the administrative. Lea is a genuine partner in the practice’s philosophy, sharing the same commitment to health, family, and long-term wellbeing that informs every clinical decision Dr. Mirandola makes. The experience patients describe — feeling seen, heard, and genuinely cared for — is in no small part a reflection of the environment Lea creates.
Together, Rob and Lea have built a practice that operates the way they believe healthcare should: small, focused, deeply attentive, and grounded in the same values they apply to their own family’s health.
“We built this practice around the kind of care we would want for our own family. That standard never changes — for any patient, at any visit.”
